Kodak has released the latest version of its imposition software, KODAK PREPS Imposition Software Version 6, which enables printers to work faster, reduce production costs, better handle last minute job changes and reduce the cost of ownership.

KODAK PREPS 6 Software delivers a new  unified, dynamic user interface that allows users to more quickly create imposition plans and offers a single workspace for ganged and non-ganged work. The new interface offers drag-and-drop functionality for almost any major action, from adding files to a job, page position or sheet, to assigning sheet resources such as marks and folding patterns. Users can also view assignments, preview and edit page content dynamically in the pages and layout views.

The new version of PREPS Software can help reduce production costs with automated and manual ganging. Users can adopt the page content view to quickly build and edit gang layouts manually and automatically. The new version alleviates the need to manually enter page properties, or to submit or resubmit XML to invoke ganging.

KODAK PREPS 6 Software features superior integration with KODAK PRINERGY Workflow, delivering better support for last-minute job changes and corrections. Integration between the PRINERGY-PREPS Imposition Engine and PREPS 6.0 Software enables prepress staff to perform multiple edit cycles of imposed files directly from the PRINERGY Workflow user interface.

New training modules that can be purchased together with PREPS 6 Software help reduce the cost of ownership. The training modules allow users to train at their own pace and eliminate the business costs associated with formal training.
