* Green alternative conquers more and more of the market for durable products
For the fourth consecutive time, the European Bioplastics Association is presenting the latest trends and innovations in the bioplastics industry to an international audience on the 10/11 November at Berlin’s Ritz Carlton hotel. Biodegradable materials and plastics are at the centre of the two-day event; these are manufactured out of sustainable raw materials and designed for the purposes of packaging, electronics and textiles.
Bioplastics are no longer mere niche products. Instead, they are gaining an increasing share in the mass markets of the vehicle, electronics, cosmetics and foodstuffs industries. Brand names such as Coca Cola, TetraPak, Toyota, Nokia, Samsung and ALDI are no rarity. They are all interested in bioplastics and will be present when the industry comes together once a year for the European Bioplastics Conference.
With over 250 participants, the European Bioplastics Conference is among the largest of its kind. Alongside a varied programme, the organisers are displaying the latest products and materials the industry has to offer in a comprehensive exhibit. Keynote speakers this year are Dr. Ulrich Weihe, from the consulting firm McKinsey, and Mori Tomoyuki from the chemical corporation and sponsor of the event, Mitsubishi Chemicals.
