* Full-service provider Uniprint from Durban expands with another Vision

DG press ServiceS, internationally renowned for its meticulous service on Drent Goebel machines, is pleased to announce that the company is in the process of installing a new Vision narrow web press at Uniprint in Durban, South Africa.
The new press has a web width of 520 mm and enables roll-to-roll, roll-to-fold and roll-to-sheet printing with speeds of up to 400 m/min. The six-color Vision includes a die-cutting station as well as perforation station and web video for monitoring print quality.

“This is the 3rd Vision press installation at Uniprint”, explains Richard Miedema, Sales Engineer at DG press ServiceS. “The company already employs 8-colour and 6-colour Vision presses that were installed by Drent Goebel in 2004 and 2007.”
The Vision itself represents one of the most advanced presses in the narrow web arena. It employs a 3-cassette cylinder system enabling printers to execute fast job changes with quick size changes while at the same time widening their applications and enjoying short make-ready times.
Precise web tension is achieved by new generation computer-controlled direct drives on all units, accommodating substrate media from 12 to 300 micron thickness. The machine configuration can be easily changed or expanded with additional modules. Tagged as a “hybrid press”, the Vision narrow web offset press enables the flexibility and modularity sought after by printers worldwide as many inline and offline units can be attached and implemented into the press.  An automatic washing system enables cleaning of all ink rollers in the ink train including the duct roller and allows for the print towers to be washed separately or simultaneously.

About Vision presses
The Vision is a short-make-ready web offset printing press that combines shaftless technology with near limitless inline options. This press can be used for a wide variety of products, including commercial print products, direct mail products, labels, pharmaceutical inserts and various flexible packaging applications, security printing, labels, business forms and many more. Proven shaft less web press technology has been combined with innovations that minimize make-ready time. The result is the Vision, a press that offers today’s printers competitive advantages in productivity, versatility and order turnaround time. The modular design makes virtually any combination of modules possible, making it suitable for a wide variety of products. A choice of tools makes inline finishing possible. The press does not employ conventional gear trains and gear boxes that are subject to wear and damage resulting in print quality and registration variations. The Vision can have up to 40 independently driven printing, processing and delivery modules that are electronically linked.
