RPC Group Finance Director Pim Vervaat has been named Finance Director of the Year at the recent Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards.

Now in its eighth year, this prestigious event, organised by Vitesse Media, recognises and rewards the achievements of the UK’s smaller quoted companies.

The organisers stated that this year’s winners had shown impressive dedication to their respective sectors and performed incredibly well, especially in light of the current economic climate.

According to the judges: “Straight talking Pim Vervaat has played an integral role in maintaining the robust financial situation of leading rigid plastics supplier RPC.”

Leslie Copeland, CEO of Vitesse Media, commented, “These awards have brought together and celebrated the best of the Small Cap business community and toasted the notable successes in the sector.

RPC was also shortlisted in the Deal of the Year category for the company’s acquisition of Superfos during 2011.
